Business Development Manager – Glenigan, powered by Hubexo

Bournemouth | Holdenhurst Road | Hybrid:

Competitive basic salary + uncapped commission

OTE £56,500 Year 1 | £70,300 Year 2

Monday–Friday

Glenigan helps businesses see what’s being built, who’s involved and when to make contact. Our customers include contractors, manufacturers and suppliers all looking for their next project, customer or order.

You’ll find and win new customers through outbound prospecting, building your own pipeline. Explore how a business finds work today and where Glenigan will help them uncover new opportunities.

You’ll own the full sales cycle, from that first conversation through discovery, tailored demonstrations, proposals, negotiation and close.

You’ll join an experienced sales team with comprehensive training and ongoing coaching, uncapped commission and a clearly defined progression path.

What you'll be doing

• Build your own pipeline through proactive prospecting and outbound activity.

• Run discovery conversations to understand customers' commercial challenges, priorities, budget and buying process.

• Tailor demonstrations to the customer’s business, showing how they can find relevant projects, identify the people involved and decide where to focus their sales effort.

• Own opportunities from initial conversation through proposal, negotiation and close.

• Maintain a sales pipeline worth at least three times your quarterly sales target.

• Keep HubSpot accurate and current, managing your pipeline and forecasts with discipline.

About you

You'll be comfortable creating opportunities rather than waiting for them and able to move confidently from prospecting through to closing.

We're looking for someone who can:

• Build relationships and communicate credibly with commercial decision-makers.

• Ask good questions, listen and turn customer needs into a clear value proposition.

• Explain the commercial value of a solution and deliver demonstrations that address customer needs.

• Handle objections, negotiate with discipline and close new business consistently.

• Manage a structured pipeline, take ownership of your performance and use coaching to improve.

• Work collaboratively while bringing the resilience and drive needed in new-business sales.

Experience in construction, SaaS or business intelligence would be useful, but isn't essential. We'll give you the product knowledge, training and support you need to succeed.

What you can expect

• Uncapped commission: OTE of £56,500 in Year 1 and £70,300 in Year 2, with the opportunity to earn beyond target.

• Training and coaching: comprehensive sales and product training, with ongoing coaching to help you develop.

• Progression: a clearly defined path to build your commercial career.

• Hybrid working: three days each week in our Bournemouth office and two from home.

Benefits

25 days' holiday plus bank holidays • Holiday purchase scheme • Enhanced pension • Private medical insurance • Life assurance • Enhanced parental leave • Employee Assistance Programme • Volunteering days • Regular team and company events

Our hiring process

After applying, you'll receive a link to an online sales assessment to complete before the interview. Allow around 45 minutes. This helps us understand your sales approach and potential in a consistent, role-relevant way.

If you progress, you'll then meet members of the team through role-related interviews where we'll explore your experience, approach and the opportunity in more detail.

Need adjustments?

We want our hiring process to be accessible and inclusive. If you need reasonable adjustments at any stage, let our Talent Acquisition team know and we'll work with you to support your needs.
